My husband has been on Oxcotin for 5 years and he would like to get off it but he has two ruptured disks and very bad osteo and rheumatoid arthritis. If he gets help getting off the Oxy will he get a different medication for the chronic pain? How do they handle the need for pain relief in withdraw programs?

My sister was diagnosed with JRA (juvenile rheumatoid arthritis) when she was young child and she is now 17 and has not outgrown it. Recently she was prescribed some sort of daily shot that costs about $5,000 a month. Insurance covers enough to make it $1,000 a month but it’s still more than the family can afford. She is currently insured through the insurance my mother has at work. I need to know if there is some way we could get more coverage so she can take this extremely important medication.

Although the new drug can`t reverse Rheumatoid Arthritis it apparently can halt the joint- disease, but no mention of the drug doing the same for Osteoarthritis, anyone out there, have anymore information.

Medicare D or the new prescription plan should pay for R.A. medications. You need to contact medicare www.socialsecurity.gov to access their site.Call the 800 number.Listen for the prompts. They will help you with a company in your area.We love our plan with Humana however,we are a low income family and my husband is disabled.
