Rheumatoid Arthritis Treatment

I would appreciate any input from all of you with RA and on this or any other arthritis medication.

Side effects especially, I get at least half of the side effects for any meds so I am concerned that my Rheumatologist wants me to start this one.

Thank you one and all for your medication experiences and any help you can give me on coping.
I had been on Maximum Strength Excedrin and Ibuprofen every four hours for a couple of years. Of course now have concerns of liver problems.

I have changed over to Hydrocodone as needed in the last 6 months.

I have had some success with Prenisone
(it repaired my knees) but the pain just moves to new joints.

I take massive A to Z vitamins and that helped the brain fog enormously.

Boy it is NOT fun!!

Question by Lauren V: What’s a good knee brace for jogging with rheumatoid arthritis?
Last year I began jogging everyday and after about two months of it my rheumatoid arthritis kicked in and my knee swelled up to the point of not being able to bend it. Currently I do lower impact cardio activities but I really enjoyed running and I want to start again. Does anyone know of a good knee brace that will potentially help with the high impact of running so that it does not cause too much stress on my knee?

I actually have a leg deformity that causes my leg to dislocate whenever I run. I bought Futuro Sports Brace and it keeps my knee balanced and in check. Rheumatoid arthritis causes swelling and inflammation, not dislocations however. So I’m not sure if there is such a brace.

i found out in nov that i have it. trying to grin and bear the flair ups. and taking my meds every night at the same time, so my hands dont decide to hurt and swell, and my feet dont decide they dont want to be walked on. anybody with experience with this? please?

I’ve just been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. My family doctor diagnosed it and gave me prescription for mobic an anti-inflammatory. He referred me to a rheumatologist and I have a appointment in June. Has anyone else been diagnosed at a young age? Any advice from anyone that has it?
