Why was i diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at 17?

I still feels like i’m a little too young. Could the doctor have made a mistake?
And is it true I wont be able to work in 10 years? I don’t bother looking up anything about it because frankly I don’t want to know because it bothers me…so i really don’t know anything about it.

The doctor could have made a mistake and now it’s not true that you won’t be able to work in 10 years. But I was diagnosed with COPD at the age of 26. How does a 26 year old that had only smoked for a few years get Emphysema?! You might need to look it up though, because as with my disease there are so many things that you can start doing today that will improve your quality of life. I didn’t realize that eating certain foods, certain exercises, certain factors and most importantly the power of prayer could make a difference in me feeling my age or feeling like an 80 year old.

you don’t want to know, but you ask here?
there is such a thing as juvenile arthritis–
it varies–many people are able to continue to work and enjoy life..you just may not be able to do somethings like construction work

There are different types of Rheumatoid Arthritis(RA). I got juvenile RA at 13 (Stills Disease), grew out of it after a year and have had absolutely no symptoms since. Sometimes it affects a single joint (for me it was just one wrist) sometimes it attacks many different joints and can damage your heart valve.
You need to educate yourself. Stop hiding your head in the sand. Find out what kind of RA you have and what you can do to get rid of it.
It makes no sense to ask in here when you should be asking your doctor and researching your condition on the internet for ways to help yourself get better. It is an autoimmune disease and can be managed.
